Join MEG

Over the last 50 years, MEG has led discussions on ethnographic material, photographs, and archives within museums. We convene frequently in safe spaces, both only and in person, to discuss past, present, and future challenges concerning the care, use, and display of these materials.

Personal Membership

Subscription year runs from 1st April to 31st March.

  • The latest Journal of Museum Ethnography (JME).
  • Discounts on the Annual Conference fee and MEG events.
  • Access to a tailored programme of events supporting professional development.
  • A regular e-newsletter containing news, reviews, notices as well as information on events.
  • Online access to back copies of the JME. Members will receive login details from JSTOR when the new membership year begins.

We offer concessionary rates for those earning less than £18,000 per year (or equivalent).

Institutional Membership

Do you work for an accredited UK museum but don’t want personal membership? Your institution can join as an institutional member for £35 per year. One person at a time can be nominated to attend MEG events at membership rates and to vote at the AGM. Institutional members can also nominate an email address which will receive the e-newsletter and event information.

Journal Subscription

Overseas museums and libraries can subscribe to the JME only for £40 (or equivalent) per year. Please contact our Journal Subscriptions Officer for an invoice.
