Book Reviews Editor for the JME
The Journal of Museum Ethnography (JME) is seeking to appoint a new Book Reviews Editor.
The Book Reviews Editor will be expected to provide editorial support for the JME, working closely with the Editor to source books for review and acting as a liaison between the Editor and the reviewers.
Main Responsibilities
- Sourcing four books for review each issue in collaboration with the Editor
- Sourcing reviewers
- Formatting and proofreading the reviews before they are sent to the Editor for the final edit.

We welcome applications from those interested in getting editorial experience in the sector, who engage with ethnographic collections, and from those who can commit for a minimum of 3 years.
The role will officially begin in April 2025 but an initial period of shadowing with the current Book Reviews Editor is planned. We ask applicants to write no more than two A4 pages citing their experience and suitability for the role.
